on system reliability. This course is designed to aid auditors in identifying,
documenting and planning auditing activities.

System Analysis & Design: To properly
conduct an audit, the auditor must understand the blueprint and building
blocks of the I\information system platform. The systems analysis and design
course track is designed to provide the background, understanding and application
of information system analysis and design techniques. The course teaches
both the concepts and tools used in system analysis and design.
Sept. 24-25
Application & System Testing: This course
track is designed to aid auditors in performing the tests needed to support
the audit opinion.
The Integrated High Definition (IHD) layered testing approach is designed
to ensure that software defects are detected early on in the development
life cycle. The IHD methodology integrates the Testing Life Cycle into
the various phases of the System Development Life Cycle.
Provides an understanding of test planning and inspection activities
and the techniques used in mainframe and client/server application testing.
Provides an understanding of the various verification and validation
methods and procedures used in testing one, two and three and four-tier
application platforms.
Sept. 29-30
Computer Security: Information resources
are most susceptible to danger inflicted by disgruntled workers, hackers
and natural disaster. This course track is specifically designed to aid
auditors in assessing computer security risks and implementing controls
to mitigate those risks.
Oct. 1-2
Computer Networks: to successfully plan and
conduct an IT audit in today business computing environment the auditor
must have an in depth knowledge of the inner workings of computer networks.
This course is designed to provide the background, current trend and
changes in technologies that have led to the development and implementation
of computer networks. Topic areas include: (a) telecommunications standards
(b) computer hardware standards (c) electrical industry standards and
(d) technologies leading to the convergence of personal computer, telecommunications
and the public network.
Provides an understanding of networking and switching technology.
Discusses the concepts and trend in the design and implementation of
computer networks.
